Startup / black-screen / early initialization failure

LMU can fail before reaching a session when its saved display or browser initialization settings are unusable. First identify which initialization step fails.

Checks and expected results

Before you repair it

  • Note whether a window appears, stays black, or closes before the menu.
  • Check the current trace for Config_DX11, dx11 configuration, or CEF initialization failures.
  • Close LMU and keep the existing configuration backup and display settings before a targeted reset.

How to confirm the result

Relaunch to the menu, confirm resolution and display selection, then load a session. If a CEF setting was tested and did not help, restore its previous value.

Repair limits and when to stop

A black screen alone does not establish configuration corruption. Do not reset the entire profile for a clearly identified driver or game-content failure; change only the implicated settings.

How PitMedic recognizes it

LMU exits during early configuration or CEF/video initialization before a session begins.

Signals PitMedic may recognize

  • CEF
  • Config_DX11
  • dx11_config
  • black screen

Built-in response

Back up and regenerate Config_DX11/dx11 configuration; if evidence points to CEF, test supported CEF mode values with rollback.
