Le Mans Ultimate

Installed track or vehicle content cannot be read/decompressed

A track or vehicle package that cannot be read can stop Le Mans Ultimate while loading a session. Match the failed package to the current session before replacing any content.

Checks and expected results

Before you repair it

  • Note the selected car, track, and the time loading stopped. Try a different combination to see whether the failure is limited to one package.
  • Check the current trace for a decompression, mesh, or scene error naming the affected Installed\Locations or Installed\Vehicles package on the same line.
  • Close LMU and preserve the identified package before targeted replacement and Steam verification.

How to confirm the result

After Steam finishes downloading or validating the affected content, repeat the same car and track selection. Success means the session loads and the matching content error does not recur.

Repair limits and when to stop

An isolated warning during a clean shutdown is not evidence that a package needs replacement. Do not clear every track or vehicle, or combine an error on one line with an unrelated successful load on another.

How PitMedic recognizes it

MAS decompression, missing mesh/scene, or affected Installed\Locations / Installed\Vehicles package references near the failure.

Signals PitMedic may recognize

  • Error decompressing file
  • Error loading mesh file
  • Error initializing scene file
  • CUBE error loading scene file

Built-in response

Back up only affected content, remove the installed copy, then use Steam validation to reacquire clean content.

An LMU warning during a clean exit does not trigger content replacement

Verified automated regression test · 2026-09-28

Test setup

Synthetic LMU evidence combined a content warning with clean-shutdown markers and exit code zero; another case represented an actual content failure without clean-shutdown evidence.

Observed result

The clean case became a normal exit with no targeted content repair. The failure case remained a content diagnosis. An error on one line was not associated with an unrelated successfully loaded path on another.

What this establishes

This verifies classification and path matching. It does not demonstrate that a damaged track package was downloaded or repaired.
