Overlay / hook / tuning software conflict

A graphics overlay may contribute to an LMU loading crash. Closing the implicated overlay for one retest helps distinguish a conflict from an unrelated crash.

Checks and expected results

Before you repair it

  • Note which overlay or tuning tools are running, such as RivaTuner or MSI Afterburner.
  • Check whether the failure occurs at the same loading stage and whether the evidence names a more specific content or driver problem.
  • Save any work in the implicated tool, close it for the test, and keep the car, track, and graphics settings unchanged.

How to confirm the result

Compare the same launch with the overlay closed. A repeatable difference supports further overlay troubleshooting; one successful launch is not a confirmed root cause.

Repair limits and when to stop

The supporting reports are community evidence. PitMedic does not uninstall tuning software or change overclock settings, and another cause may still explain the failure.

How PitMedic recognizes it

LMU loading crash while MSI Afterburner / RivaTuner or similar hook software is running, especially when no stronger content fault exists.

Signals PitMedic may recognize

  • MSIAfterburner
  • RTSS
  • RivaTuner

Built-in response

Offer to close only the implicated background process for the next LMU launch; do not uninstall or modify overclock settings automatically.
