Virtual memory / page-file allocation failure
An LMU memory allocation failure can involve Windows commit capacity as well as physical RAM. Confirm the allocation error before changing Windows memory settings.
Checks and expected results
Before you repair it
- Look for Failed to allocate a section of memory in the trace near the failed session.
- In Task Manager, open Performance > Memory and record Committed usage and its limit while reproducing the issue.
- Review available disk space and the current Windows page-file configuration; note other memory-heavy applications.
How to confirm the result
After an approved correction and any required restart, repeat the same workload and check that commit use remains below the limit and the allocation error does not recur.
Repair limits and when to stop
Page-file changes affect Windows and require explicit approval. This is not a RAM upgrade, leak fix, or guaranteed cure for a generic crash; do not choose an arbitrary fixed size without checking the system.
How PitMedic recognizes it
Trace contains 'Failed to allocate a section of memory' or Windows commit pressure is exhausted near the failure.
Signals PitMedic may recognize

Built-in response
Measure installed RAM and current Windows page-file/commit configuration. Offer a page-file correction only with explicit approval because it changes a Windows system setting and may require restart.

Current official guidance says a too-small Windows page file can cause LMU memory allocation failures, particularly on systems with less RAM.
