Automobilista 2
Broken OpenVR or Oculus configuration
AMS2 may fail to start in VR when its saved VR configuration is unusable.
Checks and expected results
Before you repair it
- Record whether the same content starts on a monitor and which OpenVR or Oculus file the failure identifies.
- Close Automobilista 2 and preserve the implicated OpenVR/Oculus graphics and settings XML files before removing its active copy.
- Note the settings you will need to re-enter and change only the identified file or files.
How to confirm the result
Relaunch Automobilista 2, review the rebuilt settings, and repeat the original action. Confirm that the headset renders the session correctly after VR settings are recreated. If it does not help, keep the new evidence and use the backup to restore the previous configuration with the simulator closed.
Repair limits and when to stop
Only the implicated VR XML files belong in this reset. It does not replace the VR runtime or reset unrelated controller data.
How PitMedic recognizes it
AMS2 evidence names OpenVR, Oculus, or the related graphics/settings XML files near a VR startup failure.
Signals PitMedic may recognize
graphicsconfigopenvrdx11.xmlopenvrsettings.xmlgraphicsconfigoculusdx11.xmloculussettings.xml
Built-in response
Back up only the OpenVR/Oculus graphics and settings XML files, then remove the active copies so VR configuration can be regenerated.
