Car setups are incompatible after a physics update
A car returning to its factory setup is not necessarily corruption. Check AMS2’s setup-autoload preference before moving saved tuning data.
Checks and expected results
Before you repair it
- Record the installed version and check the Gameplay setup-autoload setting.
- Try manually loading the saved setup and compare the affected car with its factory setup.
- Only if evidence identifies incompatible setup data, close AMS2 and preserve the implicated tuning folders before moving active copies aside.
How to confirm the result
The affected car should load with factory settings. If a saved setup still fails, keep it preserved and rebuild it against the current version rather than restoring all old setup data.
Repair limits and when to stop
AMS2 1.6.8 changed the default autoload behavior, as described in the linked notes. A clean setup test does not recover an overwritten setup or prove a physics-update incompatibility on its own.
How PitMedic recognizes it
AMS2 evidence points to tuning setup or vehiclesetups data while an affected car or setup fails after an update.

Built-in response
Check the version and Gameplay setup-autoload preference first. AMS2 1.6.8 (October 2, 2025) disabled setup autoload by default; saved setups can still be loaded manually. Returning to factory setups alone is expected behavior, not corruption. For an evidenced incompatible setup, preserve the tuning setup folders and move their active copies aside so the affected cars can load without stale setup data.
