Assetto Corsa Competizione

Unreal Engine or graphics configuration failure

An ACC rendering failure can involve custom engine configuration, but it can also have another graphics-related cause.

Checks and expected results

Before you repair it

  • Record the exact rendering-thread or DXGI error and any recent Engine.ini edits.
  • Close Assetto Corsa Competizione and preserve Engine.ini before removing its active copy.
  • Note the settings you will need to re-enter and change only the identified file or files.

How to confirm the result

Relaunch Assetto Corsa Competizione, review the rebuilt settings, and repeat the original action. Confirm that the original session and graphics action complete without the previous error. If it does not help, keep the new evidence and use the backup to restore the previous configuration with the simulator closed.

Repair limits and when to stop

DXGI device loss alone does not prove Engine.ini corruption. Driver or hardware problems need separate diagnosis; PitMedic does not change drivers automatically.

How PitMedic recognizes it

ACC logs identify Engine.ini, DXGI device loss, a rendering-thread exception, or a GPU crash without a stronger content signature.

Signals PitMedic may recognize

  • Engine.ini
  • DXGI_ERROR
  • D3D device lost
  • rendering thread exception

Built-in response

Back up and remove Engine.ini so ACC can regenerate a clean Unreal Engine configuration. PitMedic does not change graphics drivers automatically.

A current graphics fault survives a later successful exit

Verified automated regression test · 2026-09-28

Test setup

Synthetic ACC evidence included a current-session DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED event, an old copied warning, and a later zero process-exit code.

Observed result

The current-session graphics fault remained actionable instead of being discarded as a normal exit.

What this establishes

This validates evidence handling, not an Engine.ini repair or a diagnosis of driver or hardware failure.
