Checks and expected results

Before you repair it

  • Confirm Windows and the vendor app can see the device, then check ACC for controls.json or input-configuration errors.
  • Close Assetto Corsa Competizione and preserve controls.json before removing its active copy.
  • Note the settings you will need to re-enter and change only the identified file or files.

How to confirm the result

Relaunch Assetto Corsa Competizione, review the rebuilt settings, and repeat the original action. Confirm that the Controls menu opens and remapped steering, pedals, and buttons respond correctly. If it does not help, keep the new evidence and use the backup to restore the previous configuration with the simulator closed.

Repair limits and when to stop

Bindings must be recreated. This does not repair a disconnected USB device, firmware, or a missing driver.

How PitMedic recognizes it

ACC reports invalid controller, DirectInput, wheel, or controls.json state around a Controls-menu or input failure.

Signals PitMedic may recognize

  • controls.json
  • DirectInput
  • controller
  • wheel

Built-in response

Preserve controls.json, remove the active copy, and allow ACC to create a clean controller configuration. The user must remap controls afterward.
