Updater stuck waiting for iRacingService
Waiting for iRacingService can leave downloaded update files unapplied. Check the updater’s state before starting a second update process.
Checks and expected results
Before you repair it
- Confirm the updater actually reports Waiting for iRacingService and the download phase has finished.
- Check for an update still actively progressing and let it finish first.
- Identify the correct installed iRacingUpdater and use its supported -autoinstall path only after closing conflicting updater state.
How to confirm the result
The updater should apply the downloaded files and finish. Confirm the UI opens and the intended session launches afterward.
Repair limits and when to stop
This does not fix every service or download failure. If installation still fails, collect the new updater message before considering the separate backed-up cache-reset procedure.
