Logitech G HUB

Logitech G HUB crash or stale-process recovery

A confirmed Logitech G HUB application fault or leftover process can justify a controlled restart. First separate an app failure from a device, driver, or firmware issue.

Checks and expected results

Before you repair it

  • Close every supported simulator and save any work in the companion app.
  • Check whether the UI is stuck loading and whether LGHUBUpdaterService exists. This recovery restarts that specific service and requires elevation.
  • Do not restart device software during firmware flashing or while an update’s completion is uncertain.
  • Check the installed executable location before relaunching; retain the exact crash time and message if the app fails again.

How to confirm the result

Logitech G HUB should relaunch from its validated installed location and remain running. Check device visibility and expected controls before entering a session. If the app closes again, preserve the new error for vendor support.

Repair limits and when to stop

This recovery does not flash firmware, replace drivers, recalibrate devices, or remove wheel profiles. Remaining open for the verification interval does not prove long-term stability or solve every device-detection issue.

How PitMedic recognizes it

Loading-loop, agent-fault, and updater-service recovery

Controlled recovery sequence

  1. Confirm every supported simulator is closed
  2. Close the G HUB UI and agent without deleting settings
  3. Restart the Logitech G HUB updater service
  4. Relaunch the validated G HUB executable
  5. Verify that G HUB remains running

Built-in response

PitMedic follows Logitech's loading-loop recovery order: close the G HUB UI and agent, restart the G HUB updater service, relaunch G HUB, and verify that it stays running. For recurring faults, compare the installed version with Logitech's notes: 2026.4.4919028 (July 13, 2026) fixed a registry memory leak and one agent memory-corruption source; 2026.5.939708 (August 11) added a Windows troubleshooting-page reinstall option. These do not explain every fault. Vendor update or reinstall is a manual escalation; PitMedic preserves settings.

G HUB service recovery stays scoped

Verified automated regression test · 2026-09-28

Test setup

The release-policy test inspected the configured G HUB recovery definition and elevation policy.

Observed result

The definition named LGHUBUpdaterService and required elevation under the allowlisted repair policy.

What this establishes

This is a policy assertion. It does not run Logitech software or demonstrate that restarting its service fixes a loading loop.
