Before you repair it

LMU 1.4.2 fixes shared-memory threading and specific temporary-car, car-position and session-join crashes. 1.4.2.1 fixes long synchronization into team events. For matching symptoms on older builds, review the supported update before resetting configuration. Missing TC/ABS data in RaceHub is separately addressed by RaceHub 4.5.1. Preserve evidence and retest the same session.
Compare an offline session with the affected online join and record the server and time of failure.
Check Windows date, time, and time-zone settings, and use the supported LMU launch path.
Review Studio 397 service information and shipped update notes for the specific symptom; an announced fix is not evidence that it shipped.

How to confirm the result

Retry the same online session after correcting a confirmed local issue. If offline play works but joining still fails, retain the exact message and timestamps for support.

Repair limits and when to stop

This is guided diagnosis. It does not justify broad network resets, security changes, or content deletion; online warping and a local application crash may have different causes.
